When Climate Moves from Strategy to Spatial Logic

What emerges across this week’s projects is how environmental performance is being embedded directly into the spatial logic of how buildings are organised, inhabited and experienced.

Courtyards continue to shape climate-responsive thinking, evident in the homes in Thrissur and Gujarat. Alongside, stack-effect planning, ventilation paths and spatial connectivity are not treated as sustainable features to foreground, but as inherent components of architecture itself.

Even projects operating within dense urban conditions reflect a similar sensibility. In Gurugram, softness, daylight and material restraint support a calmer experience of vertical living. In Mumbai, design responds to spatial restrictions through careful planning and proportion, allowing compactness to function with clarity and comfort. In Rijn, the waterfront home extends this thinking through transitions that strengthen the relationship between interiors, wellness and landscape.

Together, these works reflect a broader maturity in contemporary practice — where performance, comfort, climate and lived experience are no longer parallel conversations, but embedded directly into the design brief itself.
