One is so used to a conventional ceiling height of say 9-10ft– both in interiors and architecturally, that when a space is endowed with a ceiling height of about 15ft and above, the term double-height immediately opens doors to possibilities of greater spatial enhancement.
If there is a window to the space, it is naturally enhanced by ample daylight, and this says a lot for the kind of interior that emerges. Large French doors, glass that bridges the inside-outside equation, ornamental chandeliers, and staircases that accentuate the height… there are several ways a double-height space is treated.
