MAD elevates Tencent's headquarters, returning valuable ground to the city through thoughtful architectural design. Corporate headquarters traditionally define themselves through ownership of land. At Shenzhen's Tengyun Centre, MAD Architects proposes a different relationship. Instead of spreading across its waterfront site, the 412,000-square-metre campus lifts its primary built mass approximately 8.6 metres above ground, transforming its ground plane into an uninterrupted public landscape.
