Where Water Shapes the Plan| SAOTA

SAOTA shapes a waterfront home around privacy, resilience and directed views on a canal-front site in Miami’s Sunset Island. The design of this residence begins with a simple question: how can a house open itself to the water while remaining protected from its surroundings? SAOTA answers by lifting the principal volume above the canal and turning the plan towards the southwest. The move responds to two conditions at once.
