Studio Vapore Transforms a Residual Space into a Sensory Nursery in Beijing

An underused balcony is now a sensory creche that supports the daily routines of staff mothers at the International School of Beijing. Beijing-based design studio Studio Vapore collaborates with the International School of Beijing (ISB) to create the Dragon Creche, a compact nursery designed for infants and toddlers belonging to the school’s staff.Conceived as a sequence of zones calibrated by privacy and activity, the project organises caregiving, play, feeding and rest within a single continuous environment.
