Sustainability is the underlying thread of most of our stories this week. Whether it is Ar. Sanjay Puri’s steel building in Surat; RGB Architecture’s climate sensitive home in Pallakad, Kerala, or for that matter, designer Mathieu Lehanneur’s solar urban furniture for Parisian streets; world over, sustainability is being viewed more as a norm than a value add.

This also brings on the thought of recycling and choosing a material palette discerningly. The Bell House by Yasemin Arpac and Sabahattin Emir of Istanbul-based design office, Ofist, is a beautiful restoration of a century-old home, carefully enriched to serve a contemporary lifestyle; whilst Israel’s Kofinas by Ron Shenkin Studio, is an 1940’s bakery turned cafe!
The values that architecture brings coupled with the kick-ass attitude of today’s lifestyles – brings to the fore storylines that are unique with nuances of the best from both worlds!
Enjoy your read.
Warmly,
