Revamping a 200-year-old building facing the Forbidden City in Beijing - a 600-year-old imperial palace - Liu Dao Hua approaches the design with three goals: highlighting oriental charm, integrating Eastern and Western culture into the spatial echo, and reconnecting humans to nature.
