An unconventional co-working space in Spain| Designing for children part II| A whimsical cat puzzle to delight all cat lovers| and more

Dear Reader,Amidst the multitude of thoughts, projects and processes that we share with you is our segment called ‘Ideas’ that comprises all such design projects that follow thematic options and the out-of-box path to accomplish a goal.

This week’s cover story too stands apart in its approach and treatment with the premise to urge people to sometimes adopt an unconventional route – a co-working space that has just opened in Valencia, Spain, and follows prescribed Covid precautionary measures amidst it’s light-hearted, spirited vibe. A must read.

Projects by Mahesh Punjabi Associates and Manoj Patel Design Studio follow on similar principles, each distinctive in its design intent and delivery – one beautifully blending a plethora of design styles in a large office; and the other, a fashion boutique that is designed using recycled and upcycled building materials.

Designer Kajal Gaba presents the second instalment of her series on holistic child development and design. And for cat lovers – Nervous System introduces a new whimsical puzzle called Herding Cats!

It has been a fulfilling week with the features rich in design thought. Hope you enjoy them too.

Warmly,

Savitha Hira
