A Sculptural Textile Partition Redefining Acoustic Space

Plissade is a freestanding, lightweight textile partition that rethinks structure, acoustics and spatial flexibility through material intelligence. Designed by Luis Marie, Plissade is an all-textile acoustic room divider that transforms pleating from surface treatment into a structural system. Drawing on traditional textile folding techniques, the design generates stability through manipulation rather than frames, binders or adhesives. Its form emerges from a precise “fold and friction” method, where interlocking layers create hollow, diamond-shaped tubes that retain their form independently.
