Plissade is a freestanding, lightweight textile partition that rethinks structure, acoustics and spatial flexibility through material intelligence.
Designed by Luis Marie, Plissade is an all-textile acoustic room divider that transforms pleating from surface treatment into a structural system. Drawing on traditional textile folding techniques, the design generates stability through manipulation rather than frames, binders or adhesives. Its form emerges from a precise “fold and friction” method, where interlocking layers create hollow, diamond-shaped tubes that retain their form independently.
Defined by a strong geometric rhythm and saturated colour, Plissade reads as both partition and spatial object. Lightweight and modular, it adapts across residential and professional settings while contributing to acoustic comfort. Produced using post-consumer recycled felt and cotton, the divider can be fully disassembled and recycled, placing material efficiency and circularity at the core of its design logic.
