Ashley Halliday Architects designs this residence using a riot of form, scale, materials, and textures that stand out as a brave and strikingly contemporary addition to a conservative heritage suburb. One-of-a-kind volumetric play anchors the elevation of this home. With subtractions, inflections, and thoughtful interventions, the dynamic form unveils itself. Drawing from adjacent 1880s architecture, the designers reference surrounding stone villas to introduce a sympathetically scaled gabled pavilion facing the street.
