At the confluence of architectural ingenuity and whisky mastery stands The Dalmore Luminary Series No.3—a collaboration between Ben Dobbin of Foster + Partners and The Dalmore’s Master Whisky Makers, Gregg Glass and Richard Paterson OBE.
The third chapter in the acclaimed Luminary Series continues to celebrate creative excellence, this time through two rare Single Malts and an arresting sculptural decanter design, inspired by tensegrity—a dynamic architectural principle where elements are held in perfect tension.
The 2025 Edition comprises The Rare, a 52-year-old Single Malt—The Dalmore’s oldest Luminary expression yet—housed in a bespoke bronze sculpture by Dobbin. With just two sets in existence, this collector’s piece draws from Dobbin’s architectural ethos and personal sensibilities, the sculptural design echoes the Highland landscapes surrounding The Dalmore distillery. Its precision-balanced asymmetry, dramatic curves, and engineered tension parallel the complex, multi-cask journey of the whisky it contains—aged in a rich variety of rare casks.
Complementing this is The Collectible, a 17-year-old expression finished in seven exceptional casks and encased in a fold-out presentation box that reflects the sculpture’s design. Limited to just 20,000 bottles worldwide, it pays homage to ‘The Rare’ while inviting connoisseurs to experience The Dalmore’s artistry more accessibly.
Unveiled at the Venice Biennale 2025, this edition affirms the Luminary Series as a unique intersection of craft, design, and legacy.
