Matière Première Architecture renovates and revitalises a 1950s chalet into a 21st-century home to fulfill the homeowners’ aspiration for the ever-so-popular typology of the A-frame cottage. Located in the Eastern Townships, near Montréal, this unique structure sits on an evergreen forest, nearly touching the water on its breathtaking waterplane. Honouring its A-frame typology, the renewed layout is designed as a series of fluid and relaxing spaces, that beautifully capture the natural landscape making the changing seasons a fundamental aspect of the interiors.
