In the last two decades that I have been imbibing and writing about design and architecture, the one photographer’s name that seemed to leave a mark on my mind, has been Hélène Binet. Did it all start with my in-depth feature on Zaha Hadid, I wonder, when I was mesmerized on one hand by Zaha the architect, and on the other by Hélène’s pulsating photographs. Well, what better way to honour her than on World Photography Day?!
Having emerged as one of the leading architectural photographers in the world, Hélène’s photographs communicate much beyond that meets the eye.
The issue is also packed with a wholesome aesthetic quotient. Enjoy.
Warmly,
